We have consolidated two rooms into one, taken trips to the goodwill and the dump, purged stuff, fixed odds and ends around the house, and have received a ton of hand-me-downs. I don't think we could be more ready for the baby to come! It is like planning for a trip and your mind keeps planning until you are on the airplane (or in the car)! I am ready to be on the trip and let go of "getting ready" phase. Well, we have a few things to finish... ~ full story |

"Chickie's First Visit" and Vicki's Graduation

My mom was tricky and scheduled a surprise graduation party for me on the same evening the family was getting together to see Scott and Anna. After Scott and Anna's move last year we have only been able to see them 2 or 3 times. This time was especially exciting as they are expecting little "Chickie" soon! Norah Jones Concert

I happen to be the luckiest person in my family. Everytime Morgan gives our Dad a birthday present I seem to get it instead. When we celebrated the birthdays in May Morgan gave Dad the Norah Jones CD which he already owned. So, Vicki got it instead. When Morgan gave Norah Jones concert tickets to Dad for his birthday he happened to be in Moscow - Russia! Gladly, I volunteered (aka begged) to go and had a wonderful time with Mom! ~ full story |

To be honest, I have always wanted to be 10 years old and to have summer vacation last a life time. Ah, it is so hard to get back to work in the fall after such a wonder and short vacation. My life of leaving the house at 7:30 am and returning my 6:30 pm has returned. On weekends I fret over my students and what I should be, could be, and wish I had time to.... ~ full story |

New York Trip

I spent all summer making my very first DVD video of my New York Trip! I learned how to use iMovie and iDVD on the eMac that I borrowed for the summer. My favorite part was creating the digital photo album of my first year of marriage. From now on I will be giving brides a photo album for a wedding present. Hey, it is fun for me and I have had a much happier response with the "brag books" than the goblet or two! |

Rollerblading Marathons

I did my first rollerblade half-marathon on the 20th of June! It took me a few days to recover from rollerblading 13 miles, then walking the Fremont Fair with Aaron and another couple, and hiking Fremont Ave. three times. The first trip up the hill was from the race finish to the car to put my blades away, then to meet up with Julie, and finally to go home for the evening. By Thursday I was back on the Burke-Gilman trail trying out my nicely recovered legs again. August 8th is the next race date and I plan on being ready for the full marathon by then. ~ full story |

What! You adopted another cat! I am sorry to say to Erika that we have adopted two cats and neither of them are Sprout Kitty. Aaron and I have taken up the art of cat sitting and falling in love with the cats. We started out taking care of my parent’s cat, Marker, and loved having a furry friend around so much we needed one of our own. Now after cat sitting for my friend’s mother’s cat we have agreed not to return Casey making our house her new home. ~ full story |
